Position Overview

The Enterprise Portfolio, Associate Director oversees our enterprise portfolio to support the delivery of critical programs across the enterprise. Responsibilities include developing and implementing our portfolio management tool, processes, and governance to ensure efficient execution of our top priorities. This leader will also act as a change agent to drive adoption of portfolio management while also collaborating with business units and functional teams to develop the necessary portfolio management skills. This position is responsible for supporting a collaborative environment that promotes positive teamwork where all members are working for the good of Exact Sciences.

Essential Duties

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Enterprise portfolio management - partner with cross-functional stakeholders to create and operationalize a process for maintaining our portfolio, identifying cross-functional dependencies and risks, and facilitating leadership enterprise tradeoff discussions.
  • Create framework to update and communicate portfolio status', timelines, budgets, and resourcing.
  • Drive visibility and understanding of the corporate portfolio to executive leadership.
  • Consult with business leads and portfolio owners on procedures for accomplishing programs and requesting resources.
  • Collaborate with product development teams responsible for meeting product design goals while maintaining compliance with the Quality System Requirements.
  • Self-starter with the ability to exercise independent judgement, prioritize and drive results with a high emphasis on quality, and foster adoption for change through strong change management skills.
  • Ability to apply qualitative and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Work in ambiguous situations, respond to new information, and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel between Exact Sciences locations.
  • Ability to travel 10% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Scientific discipline, or field related to the essential duties of the job; or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Scientific discipline or field related to the essential duties of the job and 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of Master's degree.
  • 10+ years of project management experience to include tracking and reporting responsibilities for a large portfolio in healthcare product development and/or an enterprise project management office.
  • 7+ years of experience in a regulated environment (CLIA, FDA, CE, IVDR); demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of product development processes and deliverables in these regulated environments.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience (direct or indirect)
  • Demonstrated experience working in a matrix management organization with primary responsibility for program success while relying on a team of resources which may or may not be direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance multiple competing priorities within and across multiple projects at the same time.
  • Demonstrated success with oral and written communications/presentations, influence and persuasion, results orientation, facilitation, and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMI Project Management certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification.
  • Strategic planning experience.
  • Proficiency with PPM Pro and Smartsheet.

Salary Range:

$152,000.00 - $242,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
