Wireless Network Engineer

Position Summary

SES Space & Defense is currently seeking a clearableWireless Network Engineer to support our DOD contract supporting the warfighter with Internet connectivity for Morale and Welfare, while complying with DoD acceptable use. Proximity to our Reston, VA or Tampa, FL office is a plus but not required. You will work with across departments to diagnose and resolve critical, escalated issues.To be most successful in this position, you willbe a proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills and robust attention to detail. Cisco Meraki experience is a must!

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain network solutions using Cisco Meraki Wireless hardware to provide Internet access to the warfighter
• Configure and troubleshoot Meraki wireless and Cisco switching to ensure optimal network performance and security
• Integrate Meraki wireless into SSO to ensure wired and wireless users are authenticated to the system
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement network changes to support business objectives
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary optimizations to enhance network efficiency and reliability
• Deploy QoS in accordance to Government requirements to prioritize: (1) telephony, (2) email / chat, (3) video, then (4) other data
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, addressing any identified risks promptly
• Provide escalation technical support to the NOC (Network Operations Centers), resolving network-related issues promptly
• Direct Field Install Team in the proper installation of Meraki WAPs in field.
• Develop appropriate documentation, including installation diagrams, troubleshooting guides for NOC, etc
• Administer FusionWorks VoIP platform

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3-5 years' experience in designing, configuring, and supporting Cisco Meraki network solutions
• US Citizen with ability to obtainDoD security clearance at the Secret level, or higher
• Familiarity with other Cisco networking products and technologies is a plus
• Hands-on experience in managing wireless, switching, and security appliances in a large-scale environment
• Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching technologies
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CMNA arepreferred
